"Everyone is equal in every position. Doors are always open to ask questions or consult."
I started as an installation service trainee at Hoogendoorn in 1992. My direct supervisor was Henk Hoogendoorn himself. I learned a lot from him at the time. At this time, I was already driving my own bus. At the end of my traineeship, I was offered a permanent position. For the first eight years, I was a field service installation engineer. This was mainly for the Netherlands but also occasionally abroad. After this time, I got an inside job as an installation calculator. Following my installation service job, I moved to the sales support department.
The best part of my job is helping new partners to make quotations for Hoogendoorn. The large complex offers are always a very nice challenge to make, especially if it then becomes an order.
I think the Hoogendoorn organisational culture is quite open. Everyone is equal in every position. Doors are always open to ask questions or consult.
Contact is always good and sociable. Besides work, we regularly go mountain biking on Fridays with some colleagues on the track at Polderpoort.
I am regularly proud of my work when I have been in contact with various parties to calculate a large project and it then becomes an actual order. I am also proud that I was able to help with the new calculation system. To be able to give training sessions to the partners is another thing I’m proud of.
